Masonic Children & Family Services of Texas (MCFS) has a long and proud tradition of supporting education and empowering Texas families. For over a century, we’ve recognized that education is a key ingredient to building brighter futures, strong communities, and a more prosperous state.

We understand that the rising costs of higher education can place a significant strain on Texas families and deter talented students from pursuing their dreams. That’s why we offer a range of scholarship opportunities designed to help motivated high school seniors achieve their academic goals, regardless of their financial circumstances.

MCFS Senior Scholarship

Our flagship scholarship program provides financial support to Texas high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school. Here’s what you need to know:

Eligibility

All graduating high school seniors who are Texas residents and ready to pursue higher education are eligible to apply. Masonic affiliation is a positive factor considered during the selection process, but it is not a requirement.

Award Amount

$2,500 deposited directly into the student’s college, university, or trade school account. Funds may be used for tuition and fees and expire after four years. Number of Awards: 200 annually.

Application Deadline

The application window opens on October 1st and closes on March 1st annually. Winners are notified by email on April 15th.

Complete our online application form. No mail-in applications are accepted.

Selection Criteria

MCFS scholarships are awarded based on a holistic review that considers the following:

Career Goals: Your aspirations and how your chosen field of study aligns with them.
Community Service: Your commitment to volunteering and giving back to others.
Academic Achievements: Your grades, test scores, and overall academic record.
School Activities: Your involvement in extracurricular activities or clubs.

Financial Need: Any financial challenges your family faces.
Employment Experience: Past or present work that shows responsibility.
Masonic Affiliation: Any connections to the Masonic fraternity.
Services from MCFS: If you or your family have received MCFS support in the past.
Letters of Recommendation: Strong references from teachers, mentors, or community leaders.

Important Note: Scholarship awards are limited and based on the availability of funds. While we strive to support as many deserving students as possible, not all applicants will receive scholarships. MCFS reserves the right to make final award determinations at its sole discretion.
